Canopy Climbers

Current Edition Tier: Bronze
Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Two black bear cubs ascend a giant Tulip Poplar in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Like partners in crime, these two “springers” (cubs that were born in the Spring) will stick close to one another (and their mom) while exploring the wilds of GSMNP. Despite being only months old, they have the ability and courage to climb to the top of the forest canopy – including giant Tulip Poplars like this one (the record height of a Tulip Poplar is 198 feet tall – the height of an 18 story building).
