A massive bull moose is dwarfed by the craggy peaks of the Canadian Rockies. It’s the fall, the height of the rut, and he’s following the scent of a cow moose that I spotted in the same meadow the evening before. He will continue his pursuit of her affection until he is successful or until the rut ends. This particular bull is in his prime and in addition to his impressive antlers, he is sporting the longest dewlap I’ve ever observed in the wild.
